Advanced breast cancer can be treated via local or systemic treatment. Endocrine therapy is the recommended first-line treatment.

Financial assistance is available for some treatments.

The Faster Cancer Treatment programme ensures cancer patients are seen in a timely manner. See also the treatment pathways for DCIS and early breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Foundation NZ has a range of factsheets, which include information about breast health and breast cancer for patients and health professionals.
